Time now to put everything
together... |
Itchy was the first to be put together. Here's
Chris getting the riser card ready to plug in to the board. |
Plugging the riser card in... |
Itchy with the main board screwed to the chassis.
Note the processor and fan are fitted here. |
Fiddling with the riser card again. This was almost
tricky and took us a few goes in and out after we realised it had
to be fitted to the board with the other cards already fitted to it. |
Things starting to become messy... |
Out comes the board again so we could tuck the
IDE cables nice and neatly under the main board. |
By this stage Itchy was more or less together
and we'd started on putting Scratchy together. |
Same again... |
Pentium 4 2.4Ghz processor with fan. Stupid to
think something so small can be so expensive. |
Close up of the Intel main board before
we fitted anything to it. |
Adding the memory modules to Scrtachy's
main board. |
Same again... |
Two modules of 512Mb memory safely installed
on the board. |
By this stage we'd loss patience and faith in
using standard IDE ribbons to run from the RAID controller to the
hard drives. We tracked down some sweet rounded cables from Grae
@ Webber Tech which allowed better airflow through the case plus
they look tonnes better! |
Close up of Itchy... |
Scratchy's innards just before they are
fitted to the chassis. |
